ICT Standardization and Climate Change

Welcome!
This open forum is set to discuss ICT Standardization and Climate Change.
First off I invite comments on the introductory remarks displayed on the right.
ICT has the potential to supply technological solutions that significantly reduces our environmental impact. Standardization in turn can be used as tool for quick and wide deployment of new innovation.
Three main areas of focus for this forum are:
Energy: How can ICT standards enhance optimal and efficient energy use?
Communications: What is the potential for ICT standards to reduce the climate-impact of transportations (e.g. through web meetings or digital trade in service)?
Technology transfers: How can ICT standards transfer new green technologies to developing countries?
